It's not clear when the show will air, but the casting call stipulates that contestants have a functioning app in beta by October 21st. Filming is expected to begin later this year in Los Angeles and run through early 2017, so don't expect to see any trailers for a while. The show will reportedly be available through Apple's own platforms (so, Apple TV, iTunes, etc), but there's no word on whether Planet of the Apps will be picked up by traditional TV or cable networks, or from streaming services like Netflix. Applications for would-be contestants end August 26th.
